What measures your character?

I believe the measure of a man is through his love of his family.  The way your children act in public will characterize how the parents are like behind closed doors. In most cases this is true.  Which is why I had to explain myself when my son (about a year ago) decided to start using the bathroom his own way.  It was a beautiful sunny day at our favorite playground.  My son was running around with a bunch of children before he decided to drop his pants and whip out his new discovery to water the playground.  As he was watering the playground he expressed a big "AHHHH".  Ofcourse all the mothers (which were alot of them) just laughed.  Did I mentioned that I was the only daddy on the playground.  What is a man to do?

I guess you can say that I am truly a care free guy.  When you have to go....just go! How has your kid(s) characterized you in public?

Christmas in April

My christmas gift to my wife is pampering her everyday.  My christmas gift to my children is showing how to love someone consistenly. Every morning I rush home to make breakfast (mostly hot) for my wife and her lunch for work.  This morning was no exception.  I woke up at 4am and went to work to train some clients. I came back home to make my wife a spinach, cheese and egg white omelette over strawberries. I have been doing this service for my wife for over a year now.  "I believe that the greatest gift I can give to my children is demonstrating how I love their mother."  What I've acknowledged within my boys is my oldest child shows the same love to his mother (and younger brother) through the love he sees consistently from his dad to his mother.

Best workout ever....Be a stay home Dad

I have the deepest respect for all mothers around the world who stayed at home.  I truly love being a stay home parent for most of the day (my wife gets the honor at night when I go back to work).  It is a very exhausting task each day.  I find myself getting a workout from just running around keeping my boys happy. Its like doing cardio all day.  I truly suggest that if you are a dad looking forward into being a stay home parent?  PUT YOUR STOCKS INTO ENERGY DRINKS.

A 5-hour energy drink isn't enough.  Do they make a 12 hours energy drink?  Hmmmmm.....I see a money making business..haha

Life as we know it

We sometimes see a movie that helps us remember why we got married and became a parent.  I rented a movie called "Life as we know it".  It was a funny, dramatic and heart-warming movie.  It really made me feel like nothing is more beautiful than being married and a daddy.  Without losing my Man-Card, I would recommend this movie for all men to rent and watch with his wife.  This is a major brownie point movie.

A women intuition....

One of the major tools I've leaned being the stay home parent is to follow your intuition.  I've always heard that growing up from my father.  He would tell me that a woman's intuition was very powerful.  Well, I must have gotten a "D" for listening on that day.  I drove my son to get a Chocolate Shake for doing so well in karate class.  My first thought was to change him out of his uniform (which is white ofcourse...I think you know where this is going).  However, I ignored my intuition and gave my son the benefit of the doubt.  Lets just say that I was remembering everything my father was telling me as I was washing out the back seat and soaking his uniform.  DARN WOMEN INTUITION......

Shut up ladies....keep your intuition (haha)

Fit Parent 101 - Don't be too hard on yourself

Whenever I am starting with a new client looking to get her weight back before she became pregnant.  I try to find out where she is mentally within herself.  What I've found is that mommies are overwhelmed and stressed out.   I do find a few who just want to get in shape but, would be just as happy if they never changed.  To get in shape, A mommie must love herself now (yes, in that distorted body), in order to love her new body later. Most woman can't get pass the thought of accepting her body now.  A woman will more than likely fail before she reaches her fitness goals.  She never puts her mind completely into her fitness goals. Most women (people in general) just want to be in shape.  However, they have no idea what that means.  That is why people's ideal  fitness body is compared to when they were younger or when they were in college. Stop thinking about the crazy days.  You are now a bless motheer!.

Tips:  Seriously think about how much time, energy and mental focus you can put into your fitness goals.  Set 30 - 60 minutes a day just for you.  Make fitness a part of your everyday life while at home.  Watch what you eat and stay active.  DON'T KEEP WEIGHING YOURSELF.   As you add on more lean muscles and lose body fat, your body will tone up.

"Who does that?"

A HOUSE ISN'T A HOME UNLESS YOU MOVE IN:

I just heard of a good friend who spent years saving up money and going through the hassle of looking for a new home to buy.  To her surprise, she was able to buy a wonderful home that is 4 br and 3.5 bath about 4 - 5 months ago. GET THIS!  I just found out that she still lives at home and the house has no furniture. Nothing is wrong with the house.  CHECK THIS OUT! She is going to through a house warming party for a house with NO (I MEAN NO) furniture.  Can someone please explain that to me?
